2016 Australia Day for Kids

Australia Day Options Across the Moreton Bay Region

Both Redcliffe and Bribie Island are destinations to be considered for parents planning on celebrating Australia Day in the Moreton Bay region with their kids. Take a look below to see all the information on the events during the day in both locations.

Celebrate Australia Day at Sutton’s Beach – Marine Parade, Redcliffe

If you fancy a day where you can get into Australia Day and know the kids will be well occupied, then Redcliffe is the destination for the day.

Fish, Fun & Aussie Sun

Come on down to the Fish, Fun & Aussie Sun to join us as we celebrate our great nation. With live bands and DJs, parents can enjoy sit back and relax while kids explore the workshops, compete in the number of different Aussie comps running throughout the day and take part in our beach activities. There is even the opportunity to take part in a kite making workshop so that you can let your imagination fly high. With $2 rides and free face painting, what more could you ask for?!

We are fortunate enough to be joined by our Australia Day Ambassadors, Brisbane Lions players, Daniel Merrett and Tom Rockliff. The boys will be meeting fans and will be more than happy to sign and smile for some photos.

To finish the night with a bang, there will be an impressive fireworks display launching from 7pm.

Scoopy’s Ice Cream Eating Competition

The annual Scoopy’s Ice Cream Eating Competition is running again at Aussie Beach Party. This year though, Scoopy’s have introduced adult rounds!

Running every half an hour from 10.00am – 3.00pm, both kids and adults can compete for the ultimate title as the Winner of the Scoopy’s Ice Cream Eating Competition. Our generous supports, Scoopy’s Family Cafe, have organised a family pass to Australia Zoo to give away to the winner as well as the runner up given the opportunity to create their own ice cream flavour… and keep a tub of it!

If you’re not competing in the Scoopy’s Ice Cream Eating Competition, they will be selling ice creams and icy poles all day if you are looking to cool down, so don’t be afraid to pop in! Registrations will open on the day at Scoopy’s Family Cafe. Limited spots available for each heat, so get in quick.
